SARAJEVO, MAY 14 /SRNA/ – The president of Republika Srpska should be a political authority with serious knowledge, education and experience, ready to lead Republika Srpska, and SNSD will ensure that, SNSD Main Board member Radovan Kovačević said.

Kovačević said he could not even imagine the SNSD Main Board making a decision that the party president should be a candidate for a certain office and then having anyone negotiate or bargain over it, adding that this is exactly what is now happening in SDS.

According to him, the SDS Main Board decided that the party president should be its candidate for president of Republika Srpska, but that decision is now being negotiated and politically calculated over.

"If that really happens to them, it will definitely be the end of SDS. On the other hand, you have Draško Stanivuković saying that he can only be a candidate for president of Republika Srpska because, listen to this, he says he does not have enough knowledge and experience to be a candidate for the BiH Presidency," Kovačević told reporters in Sarajevo.

Kovačević said this means that Stanivuković has placed Sarajevo above Banja Luka and BiH above Republika Srpska, which, he stressed, is unacceptable.

"That means he believes the president of Republika Srpska should be someone inexperienced, someone without knowledge or education. We believe exactly the opposite. The president of Republika Srpska should be a political authority with serious knowledge, serious education and serious experience, ready to lead Republika Srpska, and we will fight for that," Kovačević said.

Commenting on a statement by Denis Zvizdić, member of the Collegium of the House of Representatives, that Sarajevo would not be the one to "send" SNSD leader Milorad Dodik into political retirement but that the opposition from Republika Srpska would do so, Kovačević, who is also a delegate in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, said that neither Michael Murphy nor Christian Schmidt had managed to remove Dodik.

"Since they failed to complete that task in line with Sarajevo's wishes, Denis Zvizdić is now issuing a decree to the opposition in Republika Srpska to embark on another political suicide mission against Republika Srpska and its representatives," Kovačević stressed.

According to him, the most important thing is that Denis Zvizdić, Elmedin Konaković and their political party have already gone into political retirement precisely thanks to Milorad Dodik, his work and his results.
