KOVAČEVIĆ: BIGGER INSULT TO REPUBLIKA SRPSKA PRESIDENCY THAN STANIVUKOVIĆ'S REMARKS WOULD BE HIS CANDIDACY

BANJA LUKA, JUNE 16 /SRNA/ – The only greater humiliation for the institution of the President of Republika Srpska than the statements made by Draško Stanivuković would be Stanivuković himself serving as President of the Republic, or even being a candidate for the position, SNSD spokesperson Radovan Kovačević assessed.

"Fortunately, our people have repeatedly demonstrated that they do not allow such humiliations. Republika Srpska will prevail! /Christian/ Schmidt and his Stanivuković will lose", Kovačević wrote on X.

Earlier, Stanivuković stated that the position of a member of the BiH Presidency requires, as he put it, additional political experience and greater responsibility because "serious state and international policy" is conducted at that level.

At the same time, he left open the possibility of running for President of Republika Srpska, thereby sending a clear message about what he thinks of Republika Srpska and the institution of the presidency. According to Stanivuković’s view, political experience, knowledge and the statesmanlike capacity he considers necessary for a member of the BiH Presidency are apparently not required for that office.
