SARAJEVO, OCTOBER 1 /SRNA/ - Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers Staša Košarac said that the death of former Republika Srpska President Biljana Plavšić was a great loss for her family, friends, and all those who shared the belief that the Serb people have the right to preserve their identity, freedom, and Republika Srpska.
Košarac said he received with deep sorrow the news of Plavšić's death, describing her as one of the figures who left a deep mark during the most difficult and crucial years of the creation and defense of Republika Srpska.
According to him, Biljana Plavšić's name and her political engagement will remain forever written into the history of Republika Srpska.
"Her political career, as well as the life she devoted to her people and public service, bears the mark of an era in which the fate of the Serb people in this part of the world was being decided," Košarac said.
Košarac stressed that today, as Republika Srpska bids farewell to Plavšić, the Serb people have a duty to preserve, with piety and respect, the memory of her role in the creation of Republika Srpska and of all that she did, guided by the conviction that the Serb people's right to life, freedom and survival in their own land must be preserved.
"I extend my sincere and deepest condolences to the family of Biljana Plavšić. May she rest in God's peace," Košarac said in his message of condolence.
