BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 31 /SRNA/ – The Minister for Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education Siniša Karan has said today this ministry’s goal is for Republika Srpska to have young, educated people.
During his visit to the Nikola Tesla Student Centre in Banja Luka, Karan emphasized the need to work on improving the student standard in Republika Srpska and ensuring good working conditions for teaching staff.
"A young person should develop technological innovations for the betterment of our society that will be recognised by our economy," Karan told the press.
He has added that the goal is to strengthen the economy of Republika Srpska by involving graduates in technological innovation.
Karan reminded that Republika Srpska is in the process of establishing a science - technology park in Banja Luka, which should contribute to strengthening the entity’s economy.
The minister also had lunch with students in the student canteen, which was an opportunity to exchange views.
The director of the Nikola Tesla Student Centre Dragoslav Topić said he spoke with Minister Karan about important issues concerning the student standard.
He stated that, with the support of the Government, the institution has managed to keep meal prices in the canteen at BAM 3 in total - BAM 0.60 KM for breakfast, 1.40 for lunch, and 1 for dinner.
Topić also noted that students will soon move into the student dormitory, explaining that a public call has been announced and emphasizing that, thanks to the Government, free accommodation has been provided for all regular students living in the dorm.
