BANJA LUKA, JUNE 27 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska President Siniša Karan said in a congratulatory note on the occasion of Vidovdan/St. Vitus Day that this, one of the most important dates in the history of Serbs, is a holiday for the Serb people and a symbol of suffering, sacrifice, but also of steadfastness, courage and victory.
In his congratulatory note on the occasion of the patron saint's day of the Republika Srpska Army and the Third Infantry /Republika Srpska/ Regiment, Karan stressed that during the Defensive-Patrriotic War, the Republika Srpska Army, guided by the courage and determination of its members, successfully defended Republika Srpska, its people and their right to freedom and peace.
He pointed out that this holiday is a day when special tribute is paid to all members of the Republika Srpska Army who gave their lives defending Republika Srpska and its values.
"Their sacrifice obliges us to preserve the memory of the glorious path of the Republika Srpska Army, to protect and strengthen Republika Srpska, and to pass on the ideals of unity and patriotism to future generations," Karan said.
In his nozte to Brigadier Goran Maksimović, officers, non-commissioned officers and all members of the regiment, the Republika Srpska president stressed that, by preserving and nurturing the glorious tradition of the Republika Srpska Army, the Third Infantry /Republika Srpska/ Regiment continues to honourably uphold its values, contributing to the preservation of the national identity of the Serb people.
"Confident that you will continue to preserve the legacy and tradition of the Republika Srpska Army in the years ahead, I wish you a happy patron saint's day, much success in your future work, and personal and family happiness," Karan said.
