KARAN: TRIBUTE TO GENERATION OF HEALTHCARE WORKERS WHOSE DEEDS ARE FOREVER EMBEDDED IN HISTORY OF SRPSKA

ISTOČNA ILIDŽA, SEPTEMBER 22 /SRNA/ - President of Republika Srpska Siniša Karan said today in Istočno Sarajevo that the decorations presented to medical workers from the Sarajevo-Romanija region represent a historic tribute to a generation of healthcare workers who, in the most difficult times, demonstrated the meaning of professional duty, human solidarity and personal courage, and whose deeds are forever embedded in the history of Srpska.

Karan said that Republika Srpska was defended not only on the front lines, but also in operating rooms, hospital corridors and clinics, in medical vehicles and at places where battles were fought for every human life, as well as through knowledge, courage, self-sacrifice and humanity.

On behalf of Republika Srpska, he thanked the decorated medical workers for every life saved, every sleepless night, every difficult decision and every moment when they placed another person's life ahead of their own peace and safety.

"May these decorations, as an expression of the deep gratitude of Republika Srpska for everything you have done for it, be a source of honor to you, a source of pride to your families, and a lasting guide and testimony for future generations of how, when times are hardest, one serves one's people and homeland," Karan said at the ceremony marking the presentation of the decorations.

According to him, by presenting these high decorations today, Republika Srpska is fulfilling its institutional and moral debt to the people who, during the days of its defense, stood on one of the most difficult and demanding bulwarks, alongside wounded soldiers, patients, people whose lives hung in the balance, and families anxiously awaiting news of their loved ones.

"President Milorad Dodik, while serving as President of Republika Srpska in 2025, made the decision that your self-sacrifice, courage and merits should be immortalized through the highest decorations of Republika Srpska. Today, I have the great honor of presenting these decorations to you as a visible sign of the Republic's gratitude," Karan said.
