KARAN: THE HAGUE COURT SEEKS TO REVERSE VICTIMS AND AGGRESSORS ROLES

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, SEPTEMBER 16 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska President Siniša Karan said that, after the war, the Serb people experienced a great Golgotha at the hands of the Hague court and its verdicts, which seek to reverse the roles of victims and aggressors.

Karan said that today`s verdict by the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague against former KLA leaders represents a continuation of attacks against the Serb people, carried out in the criminal-justice sphere through Hague verdicts.

He pointed out that the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia was established under the slogan “justice and reconciliation,” but that after so many years, it can be said that its verdicts brought neither justice nor reconciliation.

"According to them, only the Serb people were aggressors, while everyone else was a victim. And, as we often say, our black headscarves are not the same as their white ones," Karan told the press in Istočno Sarajevo.

Karan said that the Hague verdicts sought only to say that Serbs were the only ones responsible for everything that happened across this region.

"Today`s verdict demonstrated that as well," Karan said.

The court in The Hague today sentenced four former KLA leaders to a combined total of 81 years in prison.

Hashim Thaci and Jakup Krasniqi were each sentenced to 25 years, Kadri Veseli to 18 years, and Rexhep Selimi to 13 years. The prosecution had requested 45 years in prison for each of them.
