KARAN: FREE AND RESPONSIBLE JOURNALISM IS THE FOUNDATION OF EVERY DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY

BANJA LUKA, MAY 2 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska President Siniša Karan stated that the institutions of Republika Srpska will continue to support professional media in order to improve their position and create better working conditions, emphasizing that free and responsible journalism is one of the foundations of every democratic society.

On the occasion of May 3, World Press Freedom Day, he extended congratulations to journalists, journalists’ associations, and media employees in Republika Srpska.

“On the occasion of Press Freedom Day, I extend sincere congratulations to all journalists, editors, cameramen, and media workers who, through their dedicated work in performing this difficult and demanding profession, contribute to building a transparent and democratic society,” the greeting said.

Karan thanked all media workers who responsibly follow current events and provide the public with timely, objective, and reliable information, according to a statement from the President’s Office.

World Press Freedom Day is marked globally on May 3 to raise awareness of the importance of media freedom and independence.
