BANJA LUKA, JULY 9 /SRNA/ - The Republika Srpska Minister of Internal Affairs Siniša Karan stated today in Zalužani near Banja Luka that education is a strategic commitment of the Ministry, aimed at permanently addressing the issue of future personnel.

Karan emphasized that, in the coming years, education through the Secondary School of Internal Affairs and the Police Academy will compensate for the shortage of police officers.

"At the moment, we have 718 individuals enrolled in the Secondary School of Internal Affairs and the Police Academy who will become police officers," Karan told reporters after the contract signing ceremony with the 28th class of Police Academy cadets.

In addition to education, Karan also cited equipping the force as a strategic commitment of the Ministry of Internal Affairs /MIA/.

"It is important that we have created good material conditions for members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, ensuring they receive respectable salaries, which serves as an additional motivation both to remain in and to join the police force," Karan said.

He emphasized that efforts are being made in all areas to strengthen the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a guarantor of the protection of Republika Srpska's constitutional order, and that the results of these efforts are already visible.
