KARAN: DR MIROSLAV ZOTOVIĆ INSTITUTE - PRIDE OF SRPSKA

BANJA LUKA, NOVEMBER 11 /SRNA/ - Minister of Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education Siniša Karan stated today that the Dr Miroslav Zotović Institute for Physical Medicine, Rehabilitation and Orthopaedic Surgery in Slatina is the pride of Republika Srpska, noting that it is one of the best institutions of its kind in Europe.

"Institutions like this are a national treasure. This is one of the most advanced facilities of its kind when it comes to orthopaedics and rehabilitation," Karan told reporters after touring the Institute and speaking with its management.

He emphasized that this is an internationally recognized institution, noting that due to its reputation, it has entered the process of clinical trials.

"The Government has recognized their excellence. Most of the newly built facilities were financed from their own funds, and this is one of the examples showing that our sector, too, can operate commercially," Karan said.

He pointed out the importance of human resources at the Institute, adding that responsible management is essential and indeed being practiced.

"The role of our education system and technological innovation is to advance all fields, especially medicine. The Institute applies methods that have not yet been recognized by our Health Insurance Fund. They have surpassed the current capacities of Republika Srpska," Karan emphasized.

He added that the Faculty of Medicine in Foča is internationally certified, and that the Faculty in Banja Luka, as well as the Institute in Slatina, will follow the same path.

"They are eligible to apply for international projects. I would like to express my gratitude to the Institute's management. Achievements like these deserve recognition. Their excellence is on par with the best institutions in Europe," Karan said.
