BANJA LUKA, JANUARY 26 /SRNA/ – International relations expert Lučiano Kaluža has stated for SRNA that Israel respects Republika Srpska and its political struggle to protect its rights, a stance further confirmed by the visit of a Republika Srpska delegation to this friendly country.
Kaluža said that Israel sees Republika Srpska as a friend that stood by the Jewish state in difficult times.
"We must be aware of and take into account everything that happened during the horrific Hamas attack on civilians and Israel. Republika Srpska was among the first to condemn that act and to call for justice for the victims of the Hamas aggression," Kaluža said.
He noted that Republika Srpska acted in a friendly manner toward Israel and called for the attacks and aggression to be condemned.
"Israel supports Republika Srpska and respects such a stance, as well as the political struggle of Republika Srpska for its rights. This visit by Republika Srpska officials shows that Israel views the institutions of Srpska as friends and provides them with support," Kaluža stated.
He pointed out that during the visit, SNSD leader Milorad Dodik will receive an award at the Knesset for mutual cooperation, one of the highest recognitions awarded by Israel.
"Republika Srpska has aligned itself in new geopolitical relations exactly as it should have - on the side of a new, just global order," Kaluža stressed.
He said that Dodik has well positioned Republika Srpska as an actor advocating cooperation with Israel and the US administration.
"It is very important that this does not diminish the cooperation Republika Srpska has with Russia and other countries," Kaluža pointed out.
The Acting President of Republika Srpska Ana Trišić Babić and SNSD President Milorad Dodik are on a multi-day official visit to Israel, where they will hold a number of important meetings with Israeli officials.
The Republika Srpska delegation also includes Serb delegate to the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Radovan Kovačević.
