KALINIĆ: NATO AGGRESSION - CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY

PALE, SEPTEMBER 9 /SRNA/ – Former Speaker of the Republika Srpska National Assembly Dragan Kalinić told SRNA that the 1995 NATO bombing of Republika Srpska was a crime against humanity that has remained unpunished.

"What happened during the 16 hellish days of NATO bombing of Republika Srpska, from August 30 to September 14, 1995, was a crime against the civilian population, with genocidal intent to destroy the human and material resources of Srpska," Kalinić stated.

He emphasized that this unprecedented crime must never be forgotten or forgiven, and that after everything that happened, joining NATO - a criminal military alliance - must never be allowed.

Kalinić said that the innocent victims oblige us never to forget how, at that time, the most powerful military machinery in the world openly sided with the Muslims and Croats in the war against Republika Srpska and committed numerous atrocities.

He recalled that during the NATO aggression, more than 1,000 bombs were dropped, amounting to 10,000 tons of explosives. Bombs containing depleted uranium poisoned soldiers and civilians in many parts of Republika Srpska, as well as land and waterways.

"The extent of their hypocrisy is evident in their current behaviour over the conflict in Ukraine," said Kalinić, who was the Minister of Health at the time of the NATO aggression.

East Sarajevo is marking today the Day of Remembrance for those killed in the NATO bombing of Republika Srpska, during which depleted uranium ammunition was used. 47 soldiers of the Republika Srpska Army were killed, along with at least 7 civilians, while over 100 soldiers were wounded and 21 civilians severely injured.

The initiative to commemorate the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of NATO Bombing was launched in Andrićgrad on August 26, 2018, at the proposal of the News Agency of Republika Srpska – SRNA.

The commemoration is being organised by the Republika Srpska Government Committee Nurturing Traditions of Liberation Wars.
