KALABUKHOV: LEGACY OF HEROIC STRUGGLE SHOULD BE PRESERVED

BANJALUKA, MAY 9 /SRNA/ - Igor Kalabukhov, the Russian Ambassador to BiH, said today that it is extremely important that the Serbian and Russian peoples jointly mark May 9 - Victory Day - in Banja Luka, because the legacy of the heroic struggle must be preserved.

“This is our shared holiday, and I am especially pleased that young people respect the legacy of the anti-fascist struggle,” Kalabukhov said during the marking of May 9 — Victory Day.

He reminded that the Red Army brought freedom to Europe and many nations.

“We are jointly defending true values, and I am confident that this will remain so,” Igor Kalabukhov stressed.

He assessed that it is very important that Russian President Vladimir Putin and the leadership of Republika Srpska will hold talks in Moscow today.

“I believe this will be an opportunity for new plans for cooperation in politics, the economy, agriculture, and science. It is yet another proof of the lasting nature of our friendship,” Igor Kalabukhov said.
