DOBOJ, July 26 /SRNA/ – The Mayor of Doboj, Boris Jerinić, strongly condemned the setting the car belonging to National Assembly MP Amir Hurtić on fire in the Doboj neighbourhood of Grapska, emphasizing that such an act of violence is not only an attack on an individual but also on democratic institutions that everyone must protect.
"Such an act of violence and intimidation, which has no place in our society, represents an attack not only on an individual but also on the democratic institutions we all must protect and respect," Jerinić told SRNA.
The mayor expressed his expectation that the competent authorities will urgently take all necessary measures to identify and prosecute those responsible for this unacceptable act.
"A clear message must be sent that violence, threats, and attempted intimidation will not be tolerated, regardless of whom they are directed against. Doboj remains a city where peace, coexistence, safety, and respect for the law must be the fundamental principles of life for all residents," Jerinić stated.
The police received a report last night about a vehicle on fire in the Doboj neighbourhood of Grapska, which was extinguished, and an investigation is currently underway.
The vehicle belonging to Amir Hurtić, a member of the parliamentary group BH Greens–SDA in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, was set on fire. Hurtić shared a photo of the damaged vehicle on Facebook.
