BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 15 /SRNA/ – Doboj Mayor Boris Jerinić has said it is evident that the opposition’s only remaining leverage, after losing the election, is an attempt to influence the results of the early elections in Republika Srpska through the Central Election Commission (CEC) of BiH and parts of the international community.
Jerinić stressed that, following the election and the victory of Siniša Karan as president of Republika Srpska, the opposition has been waging a synchronized campaign for some twenty days through the CEC and mentors who provide them with instructions.
He has noted that damage has already been done not only to Doboj, but to Republika Srpska as a whole, because the CEC failed to act within the legally prescribed deadline and announce its decision on the verification of election results on December 13.
“In Doboj, there were observers from Lopare, Šamac, Derventa, Modriča, Teslić, and of course Doboj, and there was not a single objection to the records or the work of polling boards until after polling stations were closed. It was determined that those objections were unfounded, and everyone signed the records,” Jerinić reminded at a news conference in Banja Luka.
He added that he finds it hard to believe that an institution as serious as the CEC is supposed to be, would make unlawful decisions and miss statutory deadlines.
