JAHORINA READY FOR INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 22 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Minister of Trade and Tourism Ned Puhovac supported all planned activities to ensure that Jahorina can successfully host a FIS Snowboard Cup and competitions as part of the women's FIS Cup.

Puhovac and Igor Žiljak, director of the Olympic Centre Jahorina, met in Banja Luka today with a delegation from the International Ski and Snowboard Federation /FIS/ to discuss the possibility of organising prestigious international competitions on Mount Jahorina.

The meeting discussed the possibility and requirements for organising competitions included in the FIS calendar, taking into account Jahorina’s infrastructure and organisational capacities, as well as its potential to host competitions at the highest international level, the Ministry of Trade and Tourism said.

Organising such competitions would make a significant contribution to further affirming Jahorina as an internationally recognised winter tourism and sports destination, while also promoting Republika Srpska on the international tourism and sports stage.
