BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 9 /SRNA/ - Mladen Ilić, Chairman of the Legislative Committee of the Republika Srpska National Assembly, told SRNA on Tuesday evening that the decision of the truncated Constitutional Court of BiH on a temporary measure suspending the Law on Financing Political Parties of Srpska is entirely political and unjustified.
“This is a continuation of a political, not a legal, practice,” Ilić said.
He added that the Constitutional Court of BiH lacks the capacity to make decisions, nor does it have a sufficient number of judges to rule on any item on the agenda.
“The law adopted by the National Assembly was a response to what the so-called High Representative Christian Schmidt imposed, namely, the ban on disbursing funds to United Srpska and the SNSD, two political parties operating in the territory of BiH. There is nothing problematic in implementing that law,” Ilić said.
Acting on an appeal filed by SDS official Darko Babalj, the truncated Constitutional Court of BiH today issued a temporary measure suspending the Law on Financing Political Parties of Republika Srpska.
