IGOR DODIK: MORE THAN BAM 7.5 BILLION BEING INVESTED IN PROJECTS ACROSS SRPSKA

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 9 /SRNA/ - SNSD Organizational Secretary Igor Dodik said that more than one billion euros has flowed into Republika Srpska, and that more than BAM 7.5 billion is currently being invested in various projects.

“More than one billion euros has flowed into Republika Srpska, and this is not a consumer budget but an investment budget. More than BAM 7.5 billion is currently being invested. Today, there is not a single municipality or city in Republika Srpska where something is not being built. Kindergartens, hospitals, sports halls, motorways and roads are being built,” Dodik told RTRS.

According to him, Republika Srpska is among the least indebted in the region, and the opening of international financial flows has enabled numerous projects that had previously been halted to get off the ground.

He singled out the state of the low-voltage power grid, particularly in rural areas, as one of the specific problems, announcing an investment of more than BAM 40 million.

Dodik said that Republika Srpska is in constant communication with the US administration and that some agreements are already being worked out.

“A memorandum of understanding has been signed by our side and the American side, and we are also waiting for the Croatian side so that the ‘Dubrovnik Two’ project can begin to be implemented. It is a major project that will provide us with energy stability,” Dodik said.

He added that Srpska is also in negotiations and talks with certain companies that would come to Republika Srpska to build data centers.

“These are some of the things we are working on operationally, and I believe the results will become visible soon,” Dodik said.

He said that Republika Srpska has significant potential and resources that should be used properly, drawing on good practices and examples from other countries to develop and make progress.

“We are on the border with the EU, we have water, cheap electricity, an educated workforce, and we need to make the most of all of this. The future will be about water and food, along with the energy and IT sectors,” Dodik said.
