IGOR DODIK: MARIJANA MOČEVIĆ WILL NOT BE LEFT WITHOUT SUPPORT

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 19 /SRNA/ – SNSD organizational secretary Igor Dodik said he would personally work to ensure that Marijana Močević from Istočna Ilidža, who was fired from a company in Sarajevo over social media content featuring the Serbian flag and a traditional šajkača cap, is offered a job in Republika Srpska.

After SRNA reported that Močević, a student at the Faculty of Security Studies in Banja Luka, was the latest in a series of people recently fired from companies based in the Federation of BiH over patriotic social media content, Igor Dodik responded by saying she would not be left alone.
He said Močević’s father had not helped create Republika Srpska so that his daughter would now have to bow her head before those who had fought against him.

In a statement to SRNA, Dodik stressed that there would be work for Močević and that he would personally advocate for her employment in Republika Srpska, where the Serbian flag is not hidden, the šajkača is not taken off and veterans are not forgotten.

When one person is attacked because he is a Serb, the whole of Republika Srpska must stand with him. We all stand with Marijana, Dodik said.

"Marijana Močević, a student at the Faculty of Security Studies in Banja Luka and the daughter of a fallen Republika Srpska Army soldier, was dismissed from a company in the Federation of BiH because she shared posts on her profile featuring the Serbian flag, a šajkača and symbols she associates with the anti-fascist struggle of the Serb people, because she is not ashamed of her father who gave his life for Republika Srpska and because she openly carries her name, identity and faith.

And she was fired. With threats. With insults directed at her late father. With colleagues turning against her, not because she made a mistake, but because she is a Serb. This is not an isolated incident. It is part of an effort to strip a new generation in Republika Srpska of its identity and to send a message to young Serb men and women that if they do not renounce their origins, their flag and their dead, they will be left without jobs, income or a place in society, Dodik stressed.

He pointed out that the foundation of that identity was the Defensive-Homeland war and those who had sacrificed their lives in it.
"That is precisely why it is being targeted, because whoever breaks the bond with one's ancestors also breaks the future," Igor Dodik pointed out.
