HOUSEHOLD SAVINGS INCREASE IN SRPSKA

BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 9 /SRNA/ - Household savings in Republika Srpska rose to a total of BAM 5.9 billion in the first half of this year, according to data from the Republika Srpska Banking Agency.

Compared with the end of last year, household savings in Republika Srpska increased by BAM 382.7 million, or seven per cent.

Term deposits account for 78.9 per cent of total household savings and increased by BAM 211.4 million, or nine per cent. Sight deposits, excluding household current accounts, account for 21.1 per cent of total household savings and rose by BAM 16.1 million, or three per cent.

"Deposits held in citizens' current accounts increased by BAM 155.1 million, or six per cent, compared with the end of 2025," the Republika Srpska Banking Agency's report for the first half of 2026 stated.
