TREBINJE, DECEMBER 10 /SRNA/ – The "House of Republika Srpska," a shop offering products from Herzegovina and Krajina, will be formally opened tomorrow in Vienna.
A delegation from the city of Trebinje, led by Mayor Mirko Ćurić and including Deputy Mayor Dražen Bošković and Director of the Trebinje Agrarian Fund Veselin Dutina, traveled to the Austrian capital today for the occasion.
Dutina told reporters that this is a major undertaking for the city of Trebinje and the Agrarian Fund, noting that this concept brings together two Republika Srpska brands for the first time.
"The idea emerged from the Serb–Austrian Economic Forum, with the support of representatives of Republika Srpska and SNSD President Milorad Dodik, who gave his full support for Republika Srpska to gain greater visibility in the EU in this way," he stressed.
Dutina explained that, for ease of operation, they decided to place products from Republika Srpska in a single, unified location.
"To begin with, the offer will include products from the `Herzegovina House` and the `Krajina House`. I believe more products from the region will follow. Our products will be presented under our brand, and exported through the Agrarian Fund," Dutina mentioned.
He noted that this represents the culmination of nine years of work by the Agrarian Fund and the "Herzegovina House," and that there is strong interest in Austria for products from Herzegovina and Krajina.
"The benefits are clear - revenues will increase, and producers who previously had no opportunity to export to other markets will now be able to do so," Dutina said.
He reminded that the "St. Sava's Day Ball" /Svetosavski bal/ will be held in Vienna in February, with Trebinje participating for the first time as a partner of the event.
Dutina also announced that a new "Herzegovina House" will open in Novi Sad in February.
