HJPC'S LETTER TO COURT IN BANJA LUKA - SERIOUS CONTINUATION OF PRESSURE

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, MARCH 13 /SRNA/ - A letter from the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council /HJPC/ of BiH, requesting an explanation from the Court of General Jurisdiction in Banja Luka on whether Milorad Dodik has been removed from the register as president of his party, represents serious arbitrariness and a continuation of unfounded pressure, lawyer Goran Petronijević told SRNA.

Petronijević noted that the operative part of the verdict issued to Dodik by the Court of BiH does not include, nor imply, a ban on serving as president of a political party.

"He has a ban on holding public office, meaning state functions, such as president of the state, prime minister, and similar positions, but when it comes to political activity, that has nothing to do with the operative part of the ruling, which refers to the six-year ban on holding such offices," Petronijević emphasized.
