HERZEGOVINA HOUSE OPENS IN NOVI SAD

TREBINJE, SEPTEMBER 28 /SRNA/ - "Herzegovina House" opened in Novi Sad today, offering residents and visitors an opportunity to discover and sample products characteristic of Herzegovina.

The official opening in Njegoševa Street was attended by Novi Sad Mayor Žarko Mićin and Trebinje Mayor Mirko Ćurić, as well as representatives of the Provincial Government and the business and tourism sectors, the Trebinje City Administration said.

Provincial Secretary for Economy and Tourism Nenad Ivanišević said the possibility of opening similar outlets in other cities across Vojvodina, including Subotica and Zrenjanin, was being considered.

Mićin stressed the importance of cooperation between Novi Sad and Trebinje, saying the new venue adds to the city's tourism offer and provides a space for promoting Herzegovinian products.

"Visitors will be able to taste products made from indigenous varieties, the famous Herzegovinian honey, wine, as well as cheese aged in a sheepskin sack - everything that makes Herzegovina special", Mićin said.

Ćurić expressed satisfaction that Herzegovina would now be represented in Novi Sad through its cuisine and the finest products of the region.

"I am certain that 'Hercegovina House' will attract great interest here and find its customers, above all thanks to the quality and authenticity of local products," Ćurić said.

Veselin Dutina, director of the Trebinje Agricultural Fund, said this was the first outlet of its kind in Novi Sad, following the earlier opening of a "Herzegovina House" in Belgrade, and announced plans to expand the product range.

The opening also highlighted continued cooperation between Novi Sad and Trebinje, as well as broader links between Vojvodina and Herzegovina through business, tourism and the promotion of local products.
