BROD, MAY 31 /SRNA/ – President of the Organization for Searching for Fallen Soldiers and Missing Civilians from Brod, Marko Grabovac, expressed expectations that Republika Srpska will form an expert team for the identification of over 600 exhumed human remains located in memorial ossuaries in Banja Luka, Nevesinje, and East Sarajevo.
Grabovac told SRNA that the relevant institutions should appoint pathologist Željko Karan to lead this expert team, so that the identification process of the remains stored in memorial ossuaries can finally begin.
He emphasized that such a team would contribute significantly to the identification of these remains and added that, if necessary, some family members would provide new blood samples for DNA analysis.
Speaking about the appointment of the new Supervisory Board of the Missing Persons Institute of BiH, Grabovac said that nothing will change regarding the acceleration of the process of searching for missing Serbs throughout BiH.
“Members of the Supervisory and Advisory Boards of the Missing Persons Institute of BiH have no real say in the matter; they are just there to fill positions. The process of searching for missing Serbs will remain stalled until this matter is returned to the jurisdiction of Republika Srpska,” Grabovac concluded.
Goran Timotija, Igor Bevanda, and Abdulah Ćulović were recently appointed to the Supervisory Board of the Missing Persons Institute of BiH.
