GOLUBOVIĆ: CULTURE AND HISTORICAL HERITAGE TO BE THE FOUNDATION OF COOPERATION

BANJA LUKA, MAY 11 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Minister of Education and Culture Borivoje Golubović states there is good institutional and cultural cooperation between Republika Srpska and Saint Petersburg, as well as a shared commitment to making culture and historical heritage the foundation of understanding and mutual respect.

Golubović noted that a continuation of this joint work is the round table on the implementation of cooperation in museum and exhibition activities between museum institutions from Saint Petersburg and Republika Srpska, organised today in Banja Luka.

He adds that the goal of the round table, which opened the Days of Saint Petersburg in Republika Srpska, is the exchange of professional and scientific experiences in the fields of neo-Nazism, Russophobia, and history falsification attempts.

"Our obligation is to further strengthen institutional capacities through joint projects, exchanges, and professional cooperation, and to create a platform for permanent and systematic action in preserving historical truth," Golubović said at the opening of the round table.

He emphasized the importance of cooperation in the field of theater arts, stressing that culture is not only remembrance of the past, but also a living communication with the present and the future.

Director of the Public Institution Donja Gradina Memorial Zone Tanja Tuleković pointed out that cooperation between cultural institutions of Republika Srpska and Russia has been growing in recent years, and that the round table is an opportunity for the memorial area to present its work.

"The culture of remembrance is a topic present at the global level, and we will present the methodologies we use in the fight against historical revisionism," Tuleković said.
