GLIŠIĆ: DODIK'S VISIT TO RUSSIA - RIGHT MOVE AT THE RIGHT TIME

BELGRADE, SEPTEMBER 10 /SRNA/ - The founder of the "People’s Network" movement Vladan Glišić told SRNA that Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik made the right move with his visit to Russia, as it came at a moment when Western pressures are becoming increasingly harsh and unbearable.

Glišić believes it is natural that a country which, together with China, India, and other states of the world, advocates a fairer global order and respect for the authentic will of the people, fully understands the position of President Dodik and Republika Srpska.

"Republika Srpska asks for nothing more than respect for the rules of the UN Charter and the basic principles of democratic civilization, which begin with the idea that people in the place where they live should be able to make certain political decisions," Glišić said.

He pointed out that through its support for Dodik and Srpska, Russia has only applied what was reaffirmed at the recent Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, when Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping stated that the world must move toward fairer global governance.

"This means that it cannot be allowed for one man, acting like a colonial governor such as Christian Schmidt in BiH, to impose election laws and persecute people simply because they sign decrees and decisions adopted by the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, that is, by the representatives of the people," Glišić pointed out.

He said that the situation in BiH shows that, under the model of the political West and political Sarajevo, even Saint Sava himself, if appointed president of Republika Srpska, would be persecuted and treated the same way as Dodik.

Glišić pointed out that the support given by Russia and its officials to Republika Srpska, its leadership, and the respect for the Dayton Agreement is therefore completely natural and principled.

"It is natural, normal, appropriate, and extremely important to us. The very fact of how significant it is shows that we live in a world of completely distorted standards, a world that must be corrected. In that sense, Republika Srpska, whether it wants it or not, stands as a defender of the idea of creating a fairer world, and that is never a very comfortable position," Glišić emphasized.

Republika Srpska, he said, is now in a better position than at the time when it was established, even though such an outcome was not foreseen given the balance of powers back then.

"Today the circumstances are much more favorable, and it is entirely natural and appropriate to seek the support of the world that is fighting for a fairer order," Glišić said.

He emphasized that this world, and Russia in particular, has understanding for the Serbian people.

"They understand us, because we belong to the same Slavic roots, the same Orthodox civilization, and the same freedom-loving world, which throughout history has reacted very strongly and decisively to dictates coming from the West," Glišić said.

Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik is on a visit to Moscow, where he met with Yuri Ushakov, aide to the President of Russia, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, and Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Sergey Shoigu.

All of them expressed their support for Republika Srpska, for Dodik as its lawful and legitimate president, and for the upcoming referendum in Srpska.
