BRATUNAC, SEPTEMBER 14 /SRNA/ - Representatives of the Organisation of Families of Fallen and Captured Soldiers and Missing Civilians of Bratunac Municipality today provided assistance to 13 families who are members of the organisation on the Day of the Fallen and Missing of Republika Srpska.

Organisation President Radojka Filipović said that they have been carrying out this activity since 2007 and that they established a humanitarian fund to which members initially contributed one BAM each month, and now contribute two BAM.

"From this fund and through donations, we provide symbolic gifts or assistance for Easter, Christmas and the Day of the Missing and Fallen," Filipović said.

She added that 547 gifts have so far been distributed in these activities to families of missing and fallen persons who are members of the organisation.

Filipović stressed that 19 Serbs from Bratunac who went missing during the Defensive-Patriotic War are still being searched for, while the last identification of a missing person of Serb nationality from this municipality was carried out in 2013.

According to her, this clearly demonstrates the failure of the BiH Missing Persons Institute to do its job, as well as discrimination and obstruction in the search for missing Serbs.

Dragana Ćetković from the village of Pobrđe said that her husband, Željko Lukić, was killed in 1992, when she was pregnant, and that she subsequently gave birth to a daughter.

"I have been a member of this organisation since it was founded, and this gesture makes us happy, showing that we belong to it and that we are not alone. A kind word and conversations when we gather and spend time together mean a lot," Ćetković said.
