GENERAL MLADIĆ’S LIFE BUILT INTO FOUNDATIONS OF REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 27 /SRNA/ - Socialist Party President Petar Đokić said that the life of General Ratko Mladić was built into the foundations of Republika Srpska as a testament and living testimony that freedom is defended with courage and love for one’s people.

Đokić said that General Mladić’s heroism was reflected in the fact that, together with his comrades-in-arms, he created the possible out of the impossible under the most difficult circumstances - Republika Srpska as the permanent home of the Serb people.

In times when it seemed impossible to establish a state, when the Serb people were facing their greatest trials, General Mladić, Đokić said, stood as a pillar of strength and a leader who carried the burden of history on his shoulders.

“His courage was a shield for the people, his determination a guiding light through the darkest days, and his sacrifice the foundation of our freedom,” Đokić said.

General Mladić’s greatness, Đokić said, lies not only in the decisions he made, but also in his strength to endure, his devotion to his people and his steadfastness as a human being, which inspired trust and hope.

Đokić expressed his condolences to General Mladić’s family, his comrades-in-arms, and everyone who will remember him, the Socialist Party said in a statement.

“Eternal glory and thanks to the former wartime commander of the Main Staff of the Republika Srpska Army, General Ratko Mladić, for everything he did for his people,” Đokić said.
