GASIFICATION ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT PROJECTS FOR MUNICIPAL DEVELOPMENT

ŠEKOVIĆI, JUNE 21 /SRNA/ – The gasification project of the eastern part of Republika Srpska represents a major development opportunity for Šekovići and the entire region, said the head of the Šekovići municipality, Miladin Lazić, in a statement to SRNA.

“Gasification brings many benefits to this region, primarily as a prospect for new jobs, the arrival of large companies, and industrial development,” Lazić stated.

He noted that gasification, given that natural gas does not pollute the environment, will also contribute to environmental protection, which is another advantage of this project that, in his view, everyone should support.

Lazić emphasized that energy supply security will be increased, along with stimulation of economic development, and he believes that the arrival of new investors and job creation will help ensure the population remains in the area — which is of key importance for the future of the local community.

The head of Šekovići expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the project’s launch, especially to the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, the Government, Prime Minister Radovan Višković, and the company “Sarajevo-gas.”

On June 15 in Šekovići, the gasification of the eastern part of Srpska was officially launched. The project includes the construction of a 48-kilometer-long gas pipeline along the route Šekovići–Vlasenica–Milići–Igrišta–Han Pijesak, with accompanying infrastructure, including the installation of metering and regulation stations in each of the five municipalities.

The Government has secured BAM 74 million from the budget for this phase of construction through the public investment program.
