BANJA LUKA, APRIL 17 /SRNA/ – CEO of the Sarajevo-gas Company from Istočno Sarajevo Nedeljko Elek says that the contract signed today for the design and construction of the main Šepak–Novi Grad gas pipeline, worth BAM 1 billion and 29 million is the largest energy-related contract in the history of Republika Srpska.
"The entire amount is financed from the budget of Republika Srpska. Complete infrastructure will be created for the gas pipelining of 18 cities and municipalities," Elek said at a press conference following the signing of the contract.
CEO of the Belgrade-based Konvar Company Miloš Petrović says that the pipeline will be about 500 kilometers long and will pass through 18 municipalities.
"This is a strategically significant project for the development and energy stability of Republika Srpska," Petrović emphasized.
He adds that all works will be completed on time and that the goal is to engage local workforce and the local economy.
"It is an honour to be a partner to the Republika Srpska Government in the implementation of this historic project," Petrović said.
The contract for the design and construction of the main Šepak–Novi Grad gas pipeline was signed today in Banja Luka.
The document was signed by Nedeljko Elek, CEO of Sarajevo-gas Company from Istočno Sarajevo, and Miloš Petrović of Konvar from Belgrade, in the presence of Prime Minister Savo Minić and Republika Srpska Minister of Energy and Mining Petar Đokić.
The Konvar is the lead company of the consortium that will carry out the works on this project, which also includes Gastek Inđija, Radis Istočno Sarajevo, the Welding Institute Belgrade, and Jokić Invest Zvornik, the Ministry of Energy and Mining of Republika Srpska announced earlier.
