PALE, NOVEMBER 18 /SRNA/ – If the dismantling of the Dayton Peace Agreement continues, the fate of BiH will be sealed, while Republika Srpska will endure and, through internationalizing its status, succeed in regaining all or most of the competencies taken away through the quasi-legal and political strong-arming of foreign protectors and domestic vassals, the Founders of Republika Srpska Association stated.

"Today, 30 years after the signing of this agreement, due to its systematic undermining by Western globalists and their domestic vassals, instead of the letter of Dayton, today’s BiH is haunted by its spirit in various forms - from the self-proclaimed High Representative and the OHR, to unconstitutional BiH institutions, politically instrumentalized judiciary and staged court processes, all the way to attempts to seize our property which we managed to defend during the last war," the Association says.

The Association emphasized that it is a logical conclusion that returning to the original letter of Dayton, 30 years later, could, together with peaceful coexistence, enable future decades of peace, stability and progress in the region.

"But for this new phase, reason and a realistic approach are necessary on the part of the other two constituent peoples and their political elites," the statement added.

Members of the Association believe that constitutional solutions exist that could accommodate the optimal aspirations of all three peoples, but that such an approach will require a new international /geopolitical/ arrangement to fully rehabilitate the currently devastated Dayton Agreement or consider alternative options.

"We, who together with our people and our fighters created and defended Republika Srpska, know only one thing—what is ours, what belongs to us, we will not give up at any cost. We hope that both the government and the opposition understand this message. We support all those who continue to resolutely defend Republika Srpska, because it comes before and above everything," the Association stressed.

They recalled that in the early 1990s, the establishment of Republika Srpska was the response of a politically mature and self-aware Serb people and its leadership to BiH's secession from the then unitary state of Yugoslavia.

At the same time, this was the only way for the Serb people to avoid a repetition of tragic history, even before the war, imposed on Serbs, began.

"We created Republika Srpska with full institutional capacity and brought her into the Dayton negotiations as such, and in order to stop the war and bring about peace, we reluctantly gave up much in both territorial and political terms," the Association said.

The statement added that this new BiH also came into being through the ceding of part of the sovereignty of Republika Srpska, which the Serb people managed to preserve during the war at the cost of thousands of lives of their best sons and daughters.

"Therefore, nothing was given to us. In the beginning, we opposed much of what was decided in Dayton, but ultimately accepted the agreement in the belief that the long-desired peace would bring stability and progress for the entire country and all three constituent peoples," the Association underlined.
