FIRE IN VRANOVINA VILLAGE BROUGHT UNDER CONTROL, TEAMS REMAIN ON DUTY

FOČA, AUGUST 25 /SRNA/ - The fire that broke out in the Foča village of Vranovina, on the border between BiH and Montenegro, has been brought under control, Commander of the Foča Territorial Firefighting Unit Vladan Radović told SRNA.

“The fire was brought under control around 2:00 a.m. last night. The situation is currently calm, therefore we hope it will remain so if there are no strong winds,” Radović said.

He added that teams are still on the ground and keeping watch.

Radović noted that there were no injuries in the fire, but that two old wooden houses and around ten auxiliary structures were destroyed.

“Given that this is a border area between Montenegro and Republika Srpska, firefighters from Pljevlja were also on the ground, so we managed to bring the fire under control through joint efforts,” Radović said.

He added that employees of the Maglić Forest Management Company, local residents and members of the Foča Volunteer Firefighting Association also took part in extinguishing the fire.
