FIRE FLARES UP TOWARD RAPTI, BiH ARMED FORCES HELICOPTER ASSISTS NEAR KREMENI DO VILLAGE

TREBINJE, AUGUST 24 /SRNA/ - The fire above Trebinje has flared up in an inaccessible area toward Rapti, so firefighters are heading there on foot carrying backpacks to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading down toward the city, Trebinje Fire Department Commander Dejan Kašiković told SRNA.

A fire is also active near the village of Kremeni Do and toward Velja Gora, where Trebinje firefighters are concentrating their forces, while a BiH Armed Forces helicopter is also assisting them in extinguishing the fire, Kašiković said.

"We are making every effort to contain the fire and prevent it from endangering people, buildings and property," Kašiković stressed.
