PALE, DECEMBER 22 /SRNA/ - An exhibition on the Doboj internment camp, through which more than 45,000 Serbs passed during the Great War, was opened today at the Faculty of Economics in Pale.
The exhibition consists of 13 panels presenting historical facts and photographs, as well as an icon of the Doboj martyrs.
At the Doboj camp, which was opened in the spring of 1915, Serbs from the Sarajevo and Rogatica districts, central Podrinje and the Romanija mountain area were imprisoned and tortured.
The exhibition on the Doboj camp, in which more than 10,000 people are estimated by historians to have perished, is organised by the municipal Veterans' Organisation, the Pale Secondary School Centre, and the elementary schools Mokro, Pale and Srbija.
After the exhibition toured all schools in the municipality of Pale, it was made available to the public in the lobby of the Faculty of Economics in Pale.
The Veterans' Organisation invited citizens to visit the exhibition and learn about the suffering of the Serbian people during the two world wars in the 20th century.
The official closing of the exhibition is scheduled for Friday, December 26, at 12:00.
The Day of Remembrance of the Doboj martyrs will be marked on Saturday, December 27, when a liturgy will be served in the churches of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Pale.
