ESCAPED PRISONER ARRESTED

BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 28 /SRNA/ – Escaped prisoner Haris Golić, who fled from a work site in Teslić, has been arrested following a swift response by members of the Doboj Correctional Facility and the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior.

The Republika Srpska Ministry of Justice told SRNA that the prisoner was located and arrested at 1:15 a.m.

Golić was serving a prison sentence at the Doboj Correctional Facility.

Immediately after his escape was reported yesterday afternoon, an intensive search operation was launched.
The operation was directly coordinated by Nenad Ostojić, director of the Doboj Correctional Facility, in cooperation with members of the Ministry of Interior.

Republika Srpska Minister of Justice Goran Selak also commented on the successful locating and arrest of the fugitive.

"I would especially like to commend the members of the Doboj Correctional Facility and police officers of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior for their professionalism, perseverance and dedication to their work. Their round-the-clock engagement resulted in the successful conclusion of the search within a short period of time. This is an example of how a swift response, good coordination and professional work by the competent services produce results," Selak said.

All measures and sanctions prescribed by law will be taken against Golić for the escape, in accordance with the established facts and applicable regulations.

Haris Golić has been returned to the facility, where he will continue serving the remainder of his prison sentence.
