BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 17 /SRNA/ - Renowned Russian mixed martial arts /MMA/ fighter Fedor Emelianenko donated BAM 20,000 to the Parents' House in Banja Luka today.

"We must always support people who are ill, especially children. During my visit to this house, I saw that everything here, in a place dedicated to the youngest, had been done with a great deal of love and warmth. Everything has been done to ensure that children receive appropriate medical care, and I wholeheartedly support that," Emelianenko told reporters.

Director of the Republika Srpska University Clinical Centre Nikola Šobot said that Fedor had shown by visiting the Parents' House and Republika Srpska today that he is a great man, athlete, and humanitarian who supports oncology patients, particularly children.

"He sent a message to sick people and those fighting for the health of their children not to give up, even though they are facing the toughest battles. Everything we do is measured by how much we help and how much we stand by those who need it most," Šobot stressed.

Representatives of the Parents' House thanked him for the donation, and Emelianenko was presented with gifts and Orthodox icons during his visit.

Emelianenko is a former Russian mixed martial arts fighter, widely regarded as one of the greatest heavyweight fighters in MMA history.

He was born in 1976 and compiled an impressive record of 40 wins and seven losses during his illustrious career. He made his biggest mark in the legendary Japanese promotion Pride, where he remained unbeaten from 2001 to 2010 and held the heavyweight title. He officially ended his professional MMA career in 2023.
