EARTHQUAKE NEAR LJUBINJE

BANJA LUKA, JULY 27 /SRNA/ - A magnitude 3.0 earthquake struck the area near Ljubinje today, according to the network of seismological stations of the Republic Hydrometeorological Institute.

The earthquake was recorded at 2:00 p.m., with its epicentre about seven kilometres northwest of Ljubinje.

The estimated intensity in the epicentral area was 4.0 on the Mercalli intensity scale.

An earthquake of this intensity cannot cause damage to buildings, although it may be felt by people in the epicentral area.
