BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 11 /SRNA/ - The sixteenth "To Brave Hearts With Love" donors’ evening will be held on December 26 in Banja Luka under the high patronage of the Acting President of Republika Srpska Ana Trišić Babić.
The donors’ evening will be held to raise funds for the establishment and equipment of a center for specialist social services for children and young people with developmental disabilities in Banja Luka, Derventa, and Foča, the Office of the President of Republika Srpska announced.
The organizers of this year’s project are the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of Republika Srpska and the Institute for Social Protection of Srpska.
As part of the campaign, starting tomorrow at 12:00 and running until December 31, the M:tel humanitarian number 1411 will be active. By calling this number, citizens donate one convertible mark and thus contribute to the campaign.
Funds will be paid into the accounts of the Ministry of Finance of Republika Srpska, namely, the special-purpose account No. 5710100000270015 held with BPŠ /Postal Savings Bank/ Banja Luka, and the foreign-currency account IBAN BA395710070400006774, account No. 0070400000067, also held with BPŠ Banja Luka.
The first “To Brave Hearts with Love” donors’ evening for children suffering from malignant diseases was held in 2010 at the initiative of the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik.
The 2011 donors’ evening was held for children with special needs and developmental disorders; the 2012 event supported children with type 1 diabetes; and the 2013 event was dedicated to children with autism.
The 2014 donors’ evening was organized to support the construction of the Parents’ House in Banja Luka; the 2015 event supported children with rare genetic diseases; the 2016 event supported the Center for the Prevention of Developmental Difficulties “For Mother and Child”; and the 2017 event supported the Solidarity Fund for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Children’s Diseases, Conditions, and Injuries Abroad.
The 2018 donors’ evening was held for children with mobility impairments, and the 2019 event supported children with developmental difficulties through the establishment of day centers in Trebinje and Banja Luka.
In 2020, the donors’ evening supported the establishment of the first Human Milk Bank; in 2021, it funded the procurement of vehicles for 33 associations within the Union of Associations for Assistance to Persons with Intellectual Disabilities of Republika Srpska; and in 2022, it supported the purchase of modern transport incubators for maternity wards across Srpska.
The 2023 donors’ evening was held to establish the Registry of Voluntary Hematopoietic Stem Cell Donors of Republika Srpska, specifically for the creation of a Laboratory for HLA Tissue Typing at the Institute of Transfusion Medicine of Republika Srpska. The 2024 event supported the introduction of newborn screening for spinal muscular atrophy.
