ĐOGO: NEW PRIŠTINA RULES AIM TO CONTROL NEMANJIĆ HOLY PLACES

FOČA, AUGUST 6 /SRNA/ – Archpriest-stavrophore Darko Đogo warned that Priština is continuing campaign of narrative and symbolic appropriation of Nemanjić-era holy places by introducing new rules requiring organized groups of pilgrims visiting Serbian religious sites in Kosovo and Metohija to be accompanied by a tourist guide licensed by Priština.

"Obviously, with this measure, Priština wants to establish absolute control over the way Serbs visit their religious sites, as well as over how our churches in Kosovo and Metohija are presented to domestic and foreign tourists," Đogo told SRNA. He is also the president of the Movement for the Defense of Kosovo and Metohija in Republika Srpska.

According to Đogo, this represents a continuation of a campaign of narrative and symbolic appropriation of Nemanjić holy sites, which are declared Albanian in false Albanian narratives.

"And with such measures, licenses would only be granted to those who repeat these absurdities and lies," said Đogo, who is dean of the Orthodox Theological Faculty in Foča.
