BANJA LUKA, JULY 1 /SRNA/ – The President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik emphasized today in Banja Luka that there is fear of migrants who are settling in abandoned buildings, and there is information that they have attacked citizens.

"Republika Srpska has been under pressure because of migrants who endangered the safety of its citizens. Our people felt unsafe because of this, and that is why no migrant centers were opened in Srpska, even though it was requested of us. From that moment, silent sanctions were imposed against us," Dodik said in the National Assembly, explaining the Draft Declaration rejecting the initiative of the Government of the United Kingdom and the EU to establish migrant centers in BiH.

He stated that there were also demands to provide migrants with jobs.

"That alone was enough of an alarm for us to reject them. From the beginning, Republika Srpska has continuously dealt with migrant issues, which have become our everyday reality," Dodik said.

He stressed that it is evident that this problem is emerging in a form that could endanger the existence of Republika Srpska.

"That is why I believe a social and political debate on this issue is necessary. I believe I speak on behalf of reasonable people, regardless of religious or national affiliation in BiH, because everyone knows what kind of problem this is," Dodik emphasized.
