DODIK: THE SERB PEOPLE ENDURED AS TRUTH IS EASIER TO DEFEND THAN LIE

BRATUNAC, July 4 /SRNA/ – SNSD Leader Milorad Dodik has said today in Bratunac, where more than three decades since the suffering of 3,267 Serbs from the Central Podrinje and Birač region is being commemorated, that the Serb people has endured as the truth is easier to defend than a lie.

"A lie always collapses, while the truth never disappears," Dodik said, stressing that the Serb people today is mourning the immense suffering of Serbs in the Podrinje region, where more than 3,200 of them were killed over a period of several years more than three decades ago.

In a press statement, Dodik said that neither the international community nor the Muslim community had shown sympathy for the suffering of Serbs in this area, as though the horrific crimes committed by Muslim forces in Kravica, Zagoni and many other places in the Central Podrinje region had never happened.

He recalled the killing of Serb member of parliament Goran Zekić, who was ambushed and killed by local Muslims before the outbreak of the war, which, as he said, was a blow against the identity of the Serb people that was followed by the subsequent suffering.

Dodik said that Muslims also suffered proportionately and that their innocent victims likewise deserve to be mourned.

He added that Serbs cannot accept the false narrative being promoted about the suffering of Muslims in Srebrenica, which is entirely politically motivated.

Dodik said that the figure of 8,000 victims in Potočari continues to be promoted, while the largest number of victims established by the Hague Tribunal was 4,100.

"For them, more than 3,200 murdered Serbs mean nothing, while any suffering of Muslims means everything. At the same time, among Serbs there is compassion for the suffering of others," Dodik said.

Dodik stated that all of this demonstrates that BiH is unsustainable, that it is a failed project and cannot exist on the falsehoods imposed by the Muslim component and internationals.

"In proportion to the size of the population, the number of victims was similar on both sides. They have never wanted to accept or acknowledge that. If they did, then how is it possible that command responsibility exists for Serbs, while for them there is no responsibility whatsoever?" Dodik asked.

The central commemoration marking the suffering of 3,267 Serbs from the Central Podrinje and Birač region between 1992 and 1995 was held today in Bratunac in the presence of the top officials of Republika Srpska and His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia.
