ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, OCTOBER 22 /SRNA/ – President Milorad Dodik said today in Istočno Sarajevo that the newly opened Student Dormitory building in this city is one of the most modern facilities in Republika Srpska and that students who regularly pass their exams will be able to use it free of charge.
"A number of benefits available to students is now complemented by the fact that this dormitory is being opened for use and that students will be able to stay there free of charge. This is a fair approach by which we want to provide young people with proper conditions for education," Dodik stated.
Dodik reminded that the construction of this building cost slightly more than BAM 9 million, emphasizing that it is of crucial importance for Republika Srpska that its eastern region functions effectively.
"We consider that the key lies in ensuring that the University of Istočno Sarajevo operates successfully, and I am proud of the fact that this university continues to improve its position on ranking lists every year," Dodik told reporters in Istočno Sarajevo.
Dodik added that it is important for the City of Istočno Sarajevo to keep developing and gaining new functions every day, which make it magnificent.
The President also mentioned that a student dormitory is being built in Foča, with a capacity of 380 beds, which will make the Faculty of Medicine in that city one of the best-equipped faculties of its kind, and enable a significant influx of foreign students, who are already numerous.
Dodik announced that a tunnel will be constructed between Pale and Istočno Sarajevo, which will reduce travel time to 12 minutes - a project that reflects better integration between these two local communities, which are the most promising in terms of development, largely thanks to the faculties and the University operating there.
