BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 18 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik said he is highly motivated to continue leading his political course and to fight even harder for the ultimate goal - an independent Republika Srpska.
"I will keep fighting so that attention is not diverted from the great injustice and criminal act committed by judges and prosecutors under the patronage of /Christian/ Schmidt, who now whines in Sarajevo, claiming he didn't mean to do it. They've given me the motivation to push forward," Dodik declared.
He stated that Željka Cvijanović would be the best choice for acting president of Republika Srpska but stressed that caution is needed so that no one in Sarajevo suddenly decides to strip her of her Presidency mandate without explanation.
Dodik recalled that years ago he suggested that, for the sake of stability, it would be good for the same person to serve as both President of the Republic and the Serb member of the BiH Presidency - though, as he noted, some critics accused him of proposing it out of self-interest.
"That had nothing to do with the truth," he emphasized.
Referring to the issue of the fourth SNSD delegate in the House of Peoples, Dodik said:
"That's why those scoundrels must be denied any chance to cause us problems. So, Cvijanović certainly won't be the acting president, even though I think that would be the best solution. Still, we don’t want to give those vultures in Sarajevo another opportunity to pick at us," Dodik told Glas Srpske.
He added that those in Sarajevo are bothered by the fact that he remains SNSD president, and reaffirmed his determination to uphold and strengthen his political goals.
"We will be loud, active, and visible - to show that we are here," Dodik said.
He pointed out that the coming period will not resemble the previous one.
"Srpska's position is changing and will become even stronger. We do, however, have some leftover issues from the past that we must resolve. Court rulings can only be overturned by new court decisions - and that's exactly what I plan to do," Dodik underlined.
He concluded by saying that his office has always carried additional weight precisely because of the person holding it.
"Formal positions are important - but they are not the most important thing," Dodik emphasized.
