BANJA LUKA, December 19 /SRNA/ – SNSD President Milorad Dodik said today that he will support an initiative to grant special status, starting next year, to employees and educators at the Public Institution Home for Children and Youth without Parental Care “Rada Vranješević” in Banja Luka, given the demanding nature of their work and the responsibility they bear.

“They are fully dedicated to the children; they are their caregivers. We will amend the law and ensure this status at the proposal of the Home, and I will support it. The Government and other institutions will ensure its implementation,” Dodik said, while attending a ceremony at the Home marking the institution’s day and patron saint’s day – St. Nicholas.

He stated that BAM 100,000 will be secured for interior renovation of the Home, including the replacement of furniture, adding that exterior renovation of the building is currently underway.

Dodik congratulated the patron saint’s day and said that the children’s performance was full of emotion, noting that he saw how the children learn and work.

“The success of this Home is like the success of any family – if it raises a successful person, then it is happy. The same applies to this Home. The concern of the people here is that all children enter life with good habits and education,” Dodik said.

He added that St. Nicholas Day is one of the most widely celebrated patron saint’s days and that it was not chosen by chance as the patron saint’s day of the Home for Children and Youth without Parental Care.

“Educators take care of children without parents. Abandoned children must be the responsibility of the state and of the people who work here. We must provide good conditions and a substitute home for those who have lost theirs for various reasons,” Dodik emphasized.
