BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 15 /SRNA/ – The President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik has said that the people of Srpska will be the driving force of the referendum scheduled for October 25.
"Let us remain united, many important days lie ahead of us, and the first is the referendum we will hold. Trust that this is an important path of our freedom, and it must take place at the time set by the National Assembly. I am convinced that our people will respond in that way," Dodik said.
He emphasized that the people of Republika Srpska will be the driving force of the referendum activities and must not give up, adding that everyone will be informed through the media.
The President of Republika Srpska stressed that today Srpska has more friends than before, more people who understand it, and added that in his daily struggle some important people give him the strength to persevere.
"Long live Republika Srpska, long live Serbia, and long live the Serbian people – and may they continue on the path of freedom and development," Dodik said in an address in front of the Palace of the President of Srpska.
Dodik noted that it is important not to accept the courts imposed by foreigners to judge Serbs simply because they do not suit Muslims in Sarajevo, adding that he was personally prosecuted because they could not put all Serbs on trial.
He underscored that the Serbian people want to live in freedom, but there is no freedom for Serbs unless they have their own state.
"In Republika Srpska, we live in complete freedom, unlike our people who live in the Federation of BiH and do not have that freedom – only when they come to Srpska do they feel free. That is the best proof of all why Republika Srpska must be preserved," Dodik emphasized.
