DODIK - OPPONENT OF GLOBALISM AND TRUMP’S FRIEND

WASHINGTON, AUGUST 5 /SRNA/ – Milorad Dodik is one of the few remaining European leaders who is proven opponent of globalism, while recent developments in BiH have created an opportunity for U.S. President Donald Trump to reciprocate his support, reads an article by Joseph Schmitz and Brian Kennedy of Harvard University.

The article emphasizes the importance of the USA reciprocating support toward BiH, arguing that mutual respect would provide Washington with a new friend and partner in Central Europe.

In the article, titled "BiH: Where Is the American People's Interest?", Dodik is described as a long-time opponent of globalism and a friend of Trump.

"Milorad Dodik can be described as a three-decade opponent of the globalist policies promoted by the EU and previous U.S. administrations. He was elected President of Republika Srpska in 2010, 2014 and 2022," the article states, which was published in the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy.

The authors recalled that Dodik has strongly supported Trump from the very beginning, calling on the Serb diaspora to vote for him in the 2016, 2020 and 2024 U.S. presidential elections, and noted that many Serb Americans responded to those appeals.

Those efforts contributed to the strong support Trump enjoys within the Serb-American community.

"How do globalists deal with their opponents? They use an old method - they bring political opponents before politically instrumentalized courts. Thus, in 2025, the Court of BiH in Sarajevo barred Dodik from holding public office for a period of six years," the article states.

It notes that the stated reason for the ruling was Dodik's refusal to comply with the decisions of Christian Schmidt.

The article further argues that Schmidt also insisted on the use of election technologies in the upcoming general elections similar to those used in the disputed 2020 U.S. elections, and that on April 24, 2025, he committed another act of ostensible legislation by denying the SNSD its regular campaign funding, which belongs to all political parties.

It is this type of political discrimination, the authors emphasize, that is familiar to American voters.

They further contend that Brussels has increasingly opposed popular European leaders who maintain close ties with Trump, citing former Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orbán as an example of a politician who was subjected to long political pressure from the EU.

"Milorad Dodik is one of the few remaining European leaders willing to challenge the political establishment while at the same time maintaining close relations with Trump," Schmitz and Kennedy concluded. /to be continued/
