BANJA LUKA, JULY 1 /SRNA/ – The President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik stated today in Banja Luka that Srpska should take a clear stance that it does not want migrants from the EU on its territory, as the arrival of 50,000 of them could endanger the lives of citizens.

"If we were to accept them, in a few years it would be demanded that they be granted citizenship. If migrants obtain citizenship, then they become part of the political body and can participate in local politics, which means an absolute change of the system," Dodik said in the National Assembly while presenting the draft declaration rejecting the initiative of the Government of the United Kingdom and the EU to establish migrant centers in BiH.

He called on MPs to support this declaration and jointly adopt quality conclusions to protect Republika Srpska.

Dodik pointed out that this is not a matter of humanity, but a fight for survival.

"Therefore, it must be said – no to any agreements on locating migrants in BiH. Such a decision by the National Assembly should be forwarded to our people in the joint institutions and bodies at the BiH level that decide on this matter," Dodik added.

He emphasized that a few days ago, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke very harshly about Western plans to place migrants in that country.

"We must not be polarized on this issue, and that is why the National Assembly should say no to migrants. We must not allow them to be stationed even in the Federation of BiH. I believe we can come together on this issue," Dodik said.
