DODIK: I STAND IN SOLIDARITY WITH VUČIĆ WHEN SUSPECTS ARE ARRESTED FOR PLANNING AN ASSASSINATION

BANJA LUKA, FEBRUARY 24 /SRNA/ - SNSD leader Milorad Dodik expressed solidarity with Aleksandar Vučić, President of Serbia, at a time when suspects are being arrested for planning an assassination, stressing that political differences are legitimate, but that endangering security must never become a matter of day-to-day political score-settling.

"I stand in solidarity with the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, at a moment when security services are arresting suspects for planning an assassination attempt against him," Dodik said.

Milorad Dodik said that it is astonishing and deeply disturbing that in a country which has already experienced the assassination of its prime minister in this century, some attempt to relativize or even mock threats to the life of the president and his family.

Such an attitude is not politics, Dodik emphasized; it is dangerously irresponsible behavior that undermines the security and stability of the entire society.

"Political differences are legitimate, but endangering the security of any elected state official must never become a matter of day-to-day political score-settling; rather, it must be treated as a question of fundamental responsibility toward stability and peace," Milorad Dodik wrote on X.

Two men from Kraljevo were arrested on suspicion of preparing a coup d’état and the murder of the President of Serbia and his family. They have been remanded in custody for up to 30 days.
