DERVENTA, May 22 /SRNA/ - The European Summit on Economy and Security, organised in Banja Luka by the Washington-based Gold Institute, is part of the agreements we have with our American friends so that we can present our potentials, and in doing so we are also showing that we understand contemporary American policy, which is focused on the economy, said SNSD Leader Milorad Dodik.

"Contemporary American policy is pragmatically guided by concrete projects, and we are seeking such a connection between Republika Srpska and the United States," Dodik said.

Dodik emphasized that Republika Srpska, with its potentials, is globally a small community, but that everything is being done to present its capacities in the proper way.

"/Serb BiH Precidency member/ Željka Cvijanović and everyone working on these issues are intriguing people to take a closer look at what this is all about. Now it is up to us to succeed in this; if we do not succeed, it will not be good, but in any case, we must succeed," Dodik told RTRS.

The First European Summit on Economy and Security, organised by the Washington-based Gold Institute for International Strategy, will be held in Banja Luka on Thursday, May 28.

At the opening of the summit, the chairman of the Gold Institute, General Michael Flynn, will deliver the welcoming address, while the Republika Srpska institutions representatives will also speak, the institute announced.

More than 100 participants from over 20 countries are expected at the summit, including prominent individuals from the worlds of business, security, diplomacy, and politics.

The summit will include panel discussions on the topics "Development of the European and Transatlantic Security Architecture and Its Implications for the Balkans" and "Economic Resilience, Regional Integration, and Investment Opportunities in Balkan Economies," according to the Gold Institute’s website.

In addition, panel discussions will focus on "Hybrid Threats, Information Operations, and the Struggle for Influence in Southeast Europe," "Energy, Infrastructure, and Connectivity as Tools of Both Cooperation and Coercion," and "The Role of Democratic Institutions, Governance, and the Rule of Law in Supporting Security and Growth."

On this occasion, the first European office of the Gold Institute, headquartered in Banja Luka, will also be officially opened, and the public will be informed about this in due course, the institute stated.
