BANJA LUKA, APRIL 4 /SRNA/ - A humanitarian initiative launched following the tragic death of priest Nenad Mitrić and his wife Nedeljka to assist their minor children has been supported today by SNSD leader Milorad Dodik, Sarajevo-Gas director from Istočno Sarajevo Nedeljko Elek, and businessman from Derventa Milanko Balešević, who will use personal funds to purchase three apartments for the three children, it was confirmed to SRNA.
Balešević previously announced on the social network Facebook that he is donating an apartment and launching the initiative "Three Children – Three Apartments".
"I will personally donate one apartment of 55 square meters in Derventa to these children and ask the future guardian of the children to contact me after Easter regarding a notarized contract. I am sharing this post for the sake of transparency and truth, with the hope that we will find two more individuals or companies and secure two additional apartments. So that each of these children receives their own home, a place from which they will start a new life, where they will grow up and study," he stated.
Balešević noted that while we cannot change what has happened, we can influence what comes next.
Priest Nenad and his wife Nedeljka Mitrić died in a traffic accident in Novo Selo near Brod, leaving behind three minor children. The children were transported for treatment to Slavonski Brod, while one was transferred to the "Rebro" clinic in Zagreb.
Following the tragedy, a fundraising campaign was launched to collect financial assistance for the treatment of the three minor children.
The campaign was initiated on the GoFundMe platform, and in a short time people raised more than BAM 200,000.
